AGBU W.E. Collection: Chibukhchyans Scarflets

$35.00

The Chibukhchyans brand has been using Armenian ornaments and Armenian national carpet patterns for their silk scarflets. The author has developed ornamentation of this creation with intricate botanical, floral motifs and rich colors to embody the idea of fertility, abundance and eternity of Armenian land. Pomegranate has always had a vast symbolism in Christianity.

Symbolizing the diversity of God’s graces, it has been widely used in Armenian architecture, carpet making, other types of applied art and miniature as a national motif. Pomegranate has also been considered as a symbol of power because of its crown-like top with its thick shell containing a multitude of seeds signifying the universe. As a blessed fruit of love, marriage, prolificacy, fertility the pomegranate has been used in the wedding ceremony.

Wash the scarflet by hand, in lukewarm water with soap, use steam ironing on the back.
